What is Shockwave?

Shockwave Therapy is a safe, non-invasive and effective treatment to reduce pain and accelerate tissue healing.  The treatment uses high-energy acoustic waves to stimulate healing in damaged tissues. Commonly used for chronic pain and musculoskeletal conditions, such as plantar fasciitis, tendonitis, and shoulder pain, shock wave therapy promotes blood flow, reduces inflammation, and accelerates the body’s natural healing processes. We use this advanced therapy to target areas that have not responded to traditional treatments, helping patients experience faster relief and improved mobility without the need for surgery or medication.

Which Conditions can Shockwave Therapy Help?

Research has shown Shockwave Therapy can help a wide range of conditions including, but not limited to tendinopathies, arthritis, neuralgia, and more.

  • Plantar Fasciitis

  • Achilles Tendinopathy

  • Rotator Cuff Tendinopathy

  • Hip pain/tendinopathy

  • Ankle sprains

  • Tennis/Golfer's Elbow

  • Neck pain

  • Back pain

  • Shoulder pain

  • Carpal Tunnel

  • Dequervains Tenosynovitis

  • Arthritis of knee, hands, ankles, feet, hips

  • Bursitis

  • Sciatica

  • IT Band Syndrome

  • Bursitis

  • Hamstring tendinopathy and strains

  • Knee pain including mensicus tears, jumpers knee, runner's knee

How does it work?

A small metal tube (projectile) is accelerated inside the handpiece using electro-magnetic propulsion until it impacts the stop plate. This collision generates a mechanical pressure wave that transfers that energy through your body.

This energy can be loud and uncomfortable, but ultimately stimulates a healing response. Shockwave therapeutic effects are attributed to increased cellular activity, new blood vessels, connective tissue and nerve remodeling.
