Deirdre McLoughlin, MSPT
Physical Therapist Deirdre McLoughlin graduated cum laude from Boston University in 1994 and then received her masters in physical therapy, also from BU, in 1995. While at BU, she was a member of the Division I National Championship Women’s Crew Program and while working towards her masters, began assistant coaching crew from 1994-1995.
Deirdre’s practice includes treating musculoskeletal injuries and dysfunctions, with a focus on treating the spine and sports injuries. Her passion is working with clients not only to relieve symptoms and improve their function but analyzing the “WHY” about the injuries her clients have. She has spent the last 4 years at UC Berkeley working with the general student population as well as collegiate athletes. In 2005 she was the physical therapist for the NCAA National Rowing Championship Cal Berkeley Women’s Crew.
Deirdre continues to take advanced coursework and is currently working toward her clinical doctorate degree at the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute for Health Professions in Boston, MA. She also stays involved with rowing and is currently coaching at the Marin Rowing Association.
Dr. Johanna Lelke, DC, ART, Graston
Dr. Johanna Lelke recently joined Innersport’s team. She comes to the Bay Area from Portland, where she graduated from Western States Chiropractic College. Dr. Lelke’s expertise in ART and Graston offers unique, soothing, non-manipulative methods of treating a wide variety of musculoskeletal and spinal problems.
Dr. Lelke’s focus is in sports medicine and soft tissue therapies for all ages. The unique touch that Dr. Lelke has developed in combining chiropractic adjustments, ART and Graston is extremely effective for treating acute and chronic conditions of “weekend warriors” and elite athletes alike. From Oregon to California, Johanna has given chiropractic care and medical triage at many athletic events: the Portland Marathon, AST Dew Tour, Nike Hood to Coast Relay, American Bouldering Series climbing competitions, soccer tournaments and triathlons, to name a few. She knows how important optimal function is when it comes to performance, as she was a member of the University of Massachusetts Track & Field team as a Heptathlete and pole vaulter throughout her collegiate career.
Dr. Lelke leads a heatlhy, active lifestyle in the East Bay as a climbing, cycling, running, and winter sports enthusiast. She maintains a personal yoga practice and has taught Vinyasa yoga for over three years. She enjoys sharing her passion for yoga and incorporating the postures into rehabilitation exercises for patients.
Patients of all ages are welcome in our office. Dr. Lelke loves working with teenage athletes because of their refreshing energy and magnificent ability to bounce back to health. A native of the Boston area, Johanna now resides in Oakland, near her sister, brother-in-law and young niece.
Betsy has been with Innersport since it’s door’s opened January, 2004. She is a Licensed Massage Therapist and Strength and Conditioning Coach, specializing in the Myofascial Integration Technique and the Myoskeletal Alignment Technique. As a result of her participation and experience in the athletic arena, she enjoys working with athletes or individuals who lead an active lifestyle. She has worked with various sports teams and their athletic training staff assisting in injury prevention, performance enhancement, and rehabilitation. Her Massage Therapy License is enhanced by her degree in Exercise Science, Masters in Sports Administration, as well as her certification as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Her eclectic knowledge of the human body offers her clients a unique insight into the structure and function of the body.
Betsy was a Strength and Conditioning Coach and massage therapist for the University of Tennessee Sports Medicine department where she worked closely with swimming, track and field, volleyball, soccer, and occasionally basketball. She is currently the massage therapist for the St. Mary’s College Rugby nationally ranked men’s rugby team. As a massage therapist, she has the essential skills to treat elite athletes and weekend warriors alike. Having the unique combination of massage therapy and personal training certification, Betsy is able to train clients looking to get back to doing what they love, and doing it optimally.

Amy is a Certified Massage Therapist who brings over 17 years of hands-on experience to her practice of bodywork and massage therapy. Her sessions are individually tailored by blending the rehabilitative techniques of Orthopedic Massage which focus on specific muscles, joints and patterns of dysfunction in the soft tissue of the body with Deep Tissue and Myofascial Release bodywork to address chronic tension and adhesions in the muscles and connective tissue that lead to injuries. Additionally, she incorporates CranioSacral Therapy into her sessions, which allows the body to unwind from the core for lasting changes. She always works with the patient’s tolerance and goals in mind.
Amy has been a member of the faculty at the National Holistic Institute in Emeryville and the Western Institute of Science and Health in San Francisco. Her experience also includes working with fitness enthusiasts in an athletic club setting and dealing with various conditions including Repetitive Strain Injuries and motor vehicle accidents in clinical and medical settings. When not at Innersport she can be found caring for employees at Pixar Animation Studios or at her studio in San Francisco.

An Atlanta native, Melissa moved to the Bay Area in 2007, finishing ten years of active duty in the U.S. military with an honorable discharge (2011).
Melissa Ownby Fabun graduated from the University of Georgia (1998) and is currently a student at the National Holistic Institute for massage therapy (2012), and studying Active Release Techniques. She is an RRCA certified endurance running coach and active in the Bay Area community for the Oakland, San Francisco, and Morgan Hill marathons as a pace group leader as well as a marathon training coach for the Lake Merritt Joggers and Striders. She also volunteers as a track and cross country coach for Piedmont Middle School coaching children. An avid trail runner, Melissa has completed more than 30 trail ultra races in distances from 5k to 50 miles.
Melissa enjoys working with athletes of all ability levels and using Shiatsu, Sports and Myofascial Therapy massage to help people rejuvenate, relax and recover.
Additional therapy styles such as Swedish, Deep Tissue, and Active Release Techniques will soon be added.
